The Belagavi City Police have launched a single-window permission system for Ganesh mandals, with the facility becoming operational from August 31, 2026, ahead of the upcoming Ganeshotsav.
The system is intended to simplify the process of obtaining the multiple permissions required for public Ganesh celebrations. Officials from the Belagavi City Corporation, HESCOM and Fire and Emergency Services Department are being coordinated through the single-window arrangement so organisers do not have to approach multiple departments separately.
The facility is operating from 2 pm to 8 pm, according to the latest local report. The initiative is being coordinated by an assigned police officer and is intended to streamline document verification and inter-departmental clearances.
The move comes as Belagavi prepares for the city's major annual Ganeshotsav, with public mandals already working on pandals and other arrangements. Earlier preparations had also highlighted the need for coordinated permissions and safety measures.
The initiative is particularly relevant for organisers because permissions may involve policing, electricity connections, fire safety and civic requirements. It does not mean that individual safety or regulatory requirements have been waived; rather, the application and coordination process is being consolidated.
