North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has started additional bus services to handle the expected increase in passenger movement around Ganesh Chaturthi.
The additional services are operating from September 11 to 13, covering the peak pre-festival travel period. Services have been planned across divisions including Belagavi, Hubballi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Uttara Kannada, Chikodi and Bagalkot. Additional services are also planned after Ganesh Chaturthi depending on passenger demand.
The transport arrangement is particularly relevant to Belagavi residents as September 12 is a Saturday, September 13 is Sunday and Ganesh Chaturthi falls on September 14, creating a concentrated travel period. NWKRTC has appealed to passengers to use the additional services to ease pressure on regular buses.
The development follows the separate special-train arrangements already announced for the Bengaluru–Belagavi corridor, indicating increased public-transport capacity ahead of the festival.
