Three Youths Killed as KSRTC Bus Hits Motorcycle Near Saundatti

Three youths were killed in a road accident near Hoysala Dhaba on the Saundatti–Dharwad road in Belagavi district late Monday night, September 14.

According to Saundatti police, the KSRTC bus, registration number KA-38/F-1138, was travelling from Saundatti towards Dharwad when it collided with a new Hero Splendor Plus motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction. Police allege that the bus was being driven rashly and at high speed.

The motorcycle was ridden by 22-year-old Vinod Kenchappa Jogenavar. Akash Narayan Jadhav, 20, of Ramapur Site, and Ravi Beerappa Kurabar, 22, of Attar Oni, both in Saundatti, were travelling as pillion riders. All three suffered severe injuries and died at the scene, police said.

Following a complaint by Meghana Vinod Jogenavar, Saundatti Police registered a case and began an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
