A free bike rescue service has been launched across Belagavi to help devotees whose two-wheelers develop mechanical problems while they are travelling during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations.
The initiative, reported by The Times of India on September 17, 2026, provides assistance to riders who become stranded because of breakdowns or other two-wheeler problems while travelling for Ganesh festival activities.
The service is aimed at providing immediate roadside assistance during a period when movement across the city increases because of Ganesh idol visits, public celebrations and related travel.
The initiative is particularly relevant during the festival because a stranded two-wheeler can obstruct traffic or leave devotees waiting on busy roads. The service adds a community-support element to the city's wider arrangements for managing Ganeshotsav movement.
