The Belagavi District Central Cooperative Bank (BDCC Bank) is awaiting State government approval for a fresh recruitment proposal covering 134 vacant posts, according to MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi, who spoke at the bank's 105th annual general meeting in Belagavi on Monday.
Jarkiholi said the earlier recruitment process for 134 posts was cancelled because of irregularities in the reservation roster and other technical issues. More than 21,000 candidates had applied during that process.
The new proposal covers 110 clerk posts, 23 peon posts and one security guard post. The bank intends to correct the earlier reservation-related issues and seek fresh applications after receiving government approval. Jarkiholi said the recruitment could be completed before December if the proposal receives approval in the coming months.
The development is significant for job seekers in Belagavi and the cooperative banking sector, although no fresh application notification has been issued yet. Candidates should wait for an official recruitment notification before treating the proposed vacancies as open for applications.
