Privacy Policy

Last updated: 01 October 2026

RooCity ("we", "us", "our") operates roocity.in, a hyperlocal directory and community platform for Belgaum. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

When you use RooCity, we may collect: your name, phone number, and email address (when you create an account, post a listing, or contact a business); content you post (business listings, marketplace items, reviews, forum questions and answers, photos); and technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically as you browse.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve RooCity — creating and managing your account, displaying your listings and posts to other users, connecting you with businesses and community members, sending you notifications about activity relevant to you, and moderating content for safety and quality.

Sharing Your Information

Information you choose to make public (such as a business listing, marketplace item, or forum post) is visible to anyone who visits RooCity. Your phone number is only shown publicly if you choose to display it — otherwise, others can only reach you through RooCity's built-in messaging. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Cookies and Advertising

RooCity may display advertisements served by third-party advertising companies, including Google. These companies may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including password hashing and secure database practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You can review and update your account information at any time from your profile page. You can choose whether to display your phone number publicly on any listing you post. To request deletion of your account or data, contact us using the details below.

Children's Privacy

RooCity is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
